The Canadian Premier League (CPL), Canada’s top-tier soccer competition, has extended its partnership with domestic airline WestJet through to 2027.

WestJet, which first partnered with the CPL in 2019, will continue to serve as the league and its constituent clubs’ official airline and vacation partner, as well as being the presenting partner of the CPL schedule, and the CPL clubs’ pre-season training camps.

Members of WestJet’s rewards scheme will continue to receive offers around the partnership, including discounted tickets and VIP experiences.

Through the 2024 CPL season, Calgary, Canada-based WestJet will also continue as the kit sponsor of Calgary’s Cavalry FC.

The airline will continue to provide travel for CPL staff, as well as the staff and players of the league’s constituent clubs, across Canada.

Glen Johnson, CPL executive vice president, stated of the deal: “"WestJet is a truly invested partner who is committed to supporting our mission to not only grow the game of soccer in Canada but to engage with, and empower every community we touch.”

"Canada is a big, beautiful country and that means a lot of travel for our clubs, who go from Vancouver Island to Halifax and nearly everywhere in between. We are grateful to WestJet for helping us get our teams and supporters where they need to go, knowing that together we can make an even greater impact within our league and on the many people who love soccer in Canada."

WestJet chief commercial officer John Weatherill added: “As a national carrier for Canada, connecting guests to the people and places they love most, we are thrilled to continue our support for the Canadian Premier League, a force that brings Canadians together and attracts global citizens to our country."
