Castore, the UK-based sportswear brand with a rapidly growing sponsorship presence, has expanded its motorsport portfolio by today entering into a strategic e-commerce partnership with Silverstone, the iconic English racetrack.

The partnership will entail Castore launching a new e-commerce store for Silverstone, with the sportswear brand to become the exclusive merchandise reseller of official Silverstone clothing and apparel.

The UK brand will also act as Silverstone’s teamwear supplier and will help produce and sell the Castore x Silverstone Lifestyle and Fanwear ranges.

Silverstone’s merchandise hubs across its various race weekends – including the annual British Grand Prix from motor racing’s prestigious Formula 1 (F1) – will also be supported by Castore, which will conduct a fit-out of the new Silverstone Megastore as well.

All Castore merchandise connected to Silverstone will become available at the Megastore, with the official e-commerce launch to come in mid-February.

Rich Brooks, brand director for motorsport at Castore, said: “Silverstone is a perfect alignment with Castore as we’re two premium British brands that are passionate about motorsport and innovation … We’re excited about being able to provide our Castore x Silverstone Lifestyle collections and fanwear in Silverstone’s Megastore.

“It’s not lost on us how iconic it’ll be to see the Silverstone team wearing our exclusive teamwear collections too.”

Nick Read, commercial director at Silverstone, added: “We’re excited to join forces with Castore to improve the Silverstone leisurewear collection for fans and to develop a brand new team uniform. I am confident, through this partnership, that we will be able to provide the highest quality range of clothing for our customers and fans.”

The deal adds to what is already a substantial Castore motorsport portfolio – the brand concluded a three-year commercial deal covering the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race in September last year, while its first entry into motor racing came in May 2021 when it entered into a multi-year sponsorship arrangement with McLaren, one of F1’s traditional powerhouses.

From the start of the 2022 season, on March 20, Castore, which first broke into sports sponsorship in 2019, will become McLaren’s official team apparel and sportswear partner.

Castore will collaborate with McLaren to develop team apparel and performance sportswear ranges and additionally take on the team’s licensed merchandise program to provide fans with “greater access to the product through localized e-commerce distribution across key regions.”

The Liverpool-based firm’s branding will feature on McLaren team apparel and on the race suits of its drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo.

Silverstone, meanwhile, is currently contracted to host an F1 race annually until 2024.
