Barcelona, the Spanish soccer giants, and Fortinet, the cybersecurity firm, have signed a sponsorship agreement around the club's Espai Barça project.

The deal makes Fortinet the LaLiga club’s new official cybersecurity partner for the next three seasons, until June 30, 2028.

As part of the agreement, Barcelona will use Fortinet’s Security Fabric platform to ensure the club’s stadium has a secure digital environment.

This includes FortiGate firewalls to secure stadium Wi-Fi, OT infrastructure, and a data center. Fortinet’s Zero Trust Network Access and endpoint security will aim to protect users and devices accessing applications. Additionally, centralized management with AI-powered security analytics will offer network visibility.

Barcelona is currently renovating the iconic Camp Nou, already the largest stadium in Europe, and its capacity will increase to 105,000 once refurbishments are completed, making it the third-largest stadium in the world behind North Korea’s Rungrado 1st of May Stadium and India’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

It is anticipated that work will end in 2026, but the venue will be able to host matches by the beginning of 2025.
