The German Handball Federation (DHB), has brought on board Autohero, a German online second-hand car dealership, as its new main sponsor in a three-year deal starting immediately.
The partnership, which will last until at least the end of 2024, was brokered by Sportfive, the international sports marketing firm that handles the DHB’s commercial rights.
The automobile brand will, through the partnership, secure logo space on the player uniforms and kits of German national team players during those three years.
Its sponsorship will also extend to the handball.net game data online platform.
Mark Schober, chairman of the DHB board, said: “With Autohero we are entering the handball decade. A partner who is experienced in the digital world is the ideal complement for us. With the events of the coming years and our strong fan base, we offer an attractive stage that Autohero will make extensive use of.”
Hamza Saber, Autohero Germany’s managing director, added: “With our DHB partnership, we will make Autohero as a brand tangible and tangible – and thus position it even more strongly as the first choice for buying used cars in Germany.”
Autohero is also the main partner of the Hertha Berlin soccer team, of German soccer’s top-tier Bundesliga (in a deal struck in June last year that was also brokered by Sportfive), and has previously been the series partner for the DTM, the main German touring car motor racing competition, as well.
