Yes Television today welcomed the confirmation of its Domestic Pay Television Programme Service License in Hong Kong by the Hong Kong government.
The license allows Yes Television to bring its Total Television service to the Hong Kong market for the first time, including true video on demand, broadcast channels, enhanced TV Internet, TV e-mail and e-commerce, all within a single browser.
Yes Television is currently in advanced discussions with partners for Hong Kong and expects to announce further details of its service in the near future.
The announcement is another step in Yes Television’s international roll-out, particularly in the Asian region. The company has recently signed commercial agreements in The Philippines and Australia. Last week newly-formed Total Television Australia, a joint-venture company in which Yes Television owns a 20% stake, signed a deal with TransACT to deliver broadband services to over 100,000 homes in Canberra, the Australian capital city.
