Toyota Confirmed As FIFA Club World Championship 2005 Naming Partner

Under the chairmanship of Dr Viacheslav Koloskov (Russia), the Organising Committee for the FIFA Club World Championship announced today that the Toyota Motor Corporation had been confirmed as the Official Naming Partner for the 2005 event, thus formalising the competition’s name: the FIFA Club World Championship Toyota Cup Japan 2005.

The competition, scheduled from 11 to 18 December 2005, will take place in three cities in Japan – Tokyo, Toyota and Yokohama – and will feature the winner of each respective confederation’s top club championship in 2005:

AFC Champions League
CAF Champions League
CONCACAF Champions Cup
CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores (seeded to semi-finals)
OFC Club Championship
UEFA Champions League (seeded to semi-finals)

Match Schedule:

Match 1 – 11 December        Group match 1 (Tokyo) – teams determined by draw

Match 2 – 12 December        Group match 2 (Toyota) – teams determined by draw

Rest day – 13 December

Match 3 – 14 December        Semi-final 1 (Tokyo) – Group match 1 winner vs. CONMEBOL

Match 4 – 15 December        Semi-final 2 (Yokohama) – Group match 2 winner vs. UEFA

Match 5 – 16 December        Fifth-Place Match (Tokyo) – Losers of Matches 1 and 2

Rest day – 17 December       

Match 6 – 18 December        Third-Place Match (Yokohama) – Semi-final losers

Match 7 – 18 December        Final (Yokohama)

The committee also confirmed Nippon Television (NTV) as the Host Broadcaster for the competition.
