The Organising Committee of Antigua Sailing Week has appointed Sportshows Television to cover this year’s event (28th April – 4th May).
Antigua Sailing Week has long been regarded as one of the leading yacht regattas in the world, and indeed, one of the most difficult to win. Over 200 yachts are competing this year, and, with more than 3000 sailors, it is one of the largest regattas in the Caribbean.
The event features a variety of different classes, including magnificent Maxi yachts at over 80 feet. Previous winners include America’s Cup stars, Around the World veterans and numerous World Champions.
Antigua Sailing Week Chairman Kraig Moore said, ‘we are delighted to have appointed Sportshows Television to film and distribute coverage of this years event. Clearly their experience, knowledge and skills make them a world leader in the business, and they’ll be drawing on all of that to capture the atmosphere and the intense competition that makes Antigua Sailing Week so special’.
Sportshows Television produces World Yachting, a specialist yachting series, which is broadcast in the UK, USA, Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. For Antigua Sailing Week, they will produce a half hour programme featuring exclusive coverage of the regatta. Special news edits and highlights packages will also be produced for distribution to news agencies and broadcasters, both locally and internationally.
