Olympic Aid Raises Over $60,000 for Refugee Children
Olympic Gold Medallist helps raise money for charity. A photograph of Australian swimming gold medallist, Grant Hackett, has sold for more than $2,500 in a charity auction for refugee children. Olympic Aid is an athlete-driven program helping to give children greater access to sport.
Other Australian athletes involved in the fund-raiser include swimmer Ian Thorpe, tennis player Pat Rafter and Olympic legend Dawn Fraser. Daily auctions, held at the Samsung Centre, have so far raised more than $60,000 for Olympic Aid.
