A football match between MotoGP stars and a team of German sportsmen including several olympic and world champions will be hosted on Thursday 20th at Hohenstein-Ernstthal, 3 kilometres away from the Sachsenring circuit, where the Cinzano Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland will take place over the week-end.

This match is part of the charity organisation Riders for Health supported by all MotoGP riders. All funds from the receipt (more than 5.000 spectators are expected) plus the advertising signage (the match will be broadcasted on TV) will go to the health programmes run by this NGO in Africa, which consist mainly in the purchase and maintenance of motorcyles for the health technicians to reach the remote areas and improve the quality of life in those countries.
The list of MotoGP players includes Alex Criville (Esp), Kenny Roberts (Usa), Max Biaggi (Ita), Carlos Checa (Esp), Valentino Rossi (Ita), Alexandre Barros (Bra), Emilio Alzamora (Esp), Norick Abe (Jap), Regis Laconi (Fra), Jeremy McWilliams (Gbr), Shinya Nakano (Jap), Marco Melandri (Ita), Sete Gibernau (Esp), Anthony West (Aus), Sebastian Porto (Arg), Steve Jenkner (Ger) and others.
The German All Stars team will be formed by Gabriele Kohlisch (bobsleigh world champion), Jens Fiedler (cycling olympic champion), Michael Hübner (cycling world champion), Steve Theloke (swimming european champion), Thomas Schönlebe (athletics 400m world champion), Jens Weisflog (ski jumping olympic champion), Jens Carlowitz (athletics champion), Jürgen Bähringer (football former national player), Frank Uhlig (football former national player), Wolfgang Hoppe (bobsleigh olympic and world champion), Hans-Jürgen Dörner (football former national player), Toni Polster (football former Austrian national player), Harald Sturm (enduro world champion), Bernd Schneider (German touring car champion), Manuel Reuter (Le Mans winner) and others.

The match will kick off at 18:30 (local time) and will be broadcasted live on Eurosport.
