IPCH is happy to announce that the hosting nation for the IPCH European Championship 2024 has finally been selected.
Denmark will host the competition in Musholm: a unique holiday, sports, and conference center in the middle of Denmark. Located by the Danish coastline, just an hour's drive from Copenhagen, Musholm is designed as one of the world’s most innovative and inclusive holiday and sports resorts.
Musholm resort and the sport hall will be the beating heart of the competition hosting the Team Delegations and the games. Training will be organized in a nearby Sport Hall.
The competition will be organized by Parasport Denmark and the Powerchair Floorball organization in Denmark under the supervision of the appointed IPCH Technical Delegate and under the aegis of IWAS – CISPRA.
Eight national teams will participate in the European Championship 2024 that will be held from 20th to 28th October, 2024, and the competition will serve as Regional Championship to define the qualification slots for the World Championship 2026.
“Is there any better place to host a major event than the nation of the World Champions?” comments Fabio Rodo, IPCH Chairperson. “Denmark tried for so long to put a bid and there can't be any better timing than this. The high accessibility standard of Musholm center will redefine the state of art of our events. We will work closely with LOC, as always, to arrange everything for the best for the next European Championship. New challenges will wait for us but we are more than ready for those!”
“I am very pleased that we, in collaboration with the Municipality of Slagelse, Sport Event Denmark and Musholm – Vacation, Sport and Conference, will be hosting the IPCH European Championship 2024 in the unique setting of Musholm, which is a venue in a class of its own catering for the needs of players with difficult physical conditions. I am delighted that we can join forces to show case this fascinating sport, and I hope that many people will come and experience intense matches at the highest level of this fast game,” says John Petersson, chairman of Parasport Denmark.
“It is always gratifying to add more and new events to our calendar. The IPCH European Championship 2024 is the latest addition. Para-sport championships are always very welcome in Denmark. In 2024, Denmark will also host the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships 2024 and UCI Track World Championships 2024 along with other major, international sporting events. It is always a pleasure to give our athletes home ground, and with Denmark as the defending world champions in powerchair hockey, we must ensure good support for the team,” says Lars Lundov, director, Sport Event Denmark.
