Tech-infused golf league TGL has announced the formation of its sixth and final side, Jupiter Links Golf Club, with TGL co-founder Tiger Woods’ TGR Ventures heading up the ownership group.
Alongside golf legend Woods is US businessman David Blitzer, who counts basketball’s Philadelphia 76ers and ice hockey’s New Jersey Devils among his dozen-plus sports ventures.
TGL was founded by Woods, alongside fellow golf star Rory McIlroy, and businessman Mike McCarley, chief executive of both TGL and the trio’s sports entertainment venture TMRW Sports.
Woods has also been announced as the first TGL player for Jupiter Links, which represents his hometown of Jupiter, Florida.
Blitzer stated: “Tiger Woods is one of the most influential and iconic athletes in the history of sports, and I’m thrilled to partner with him to form Jupiter Links GC. Golf is a sport that has a proven ability to bring people together from all over the world and I’m excited by the potential reach and impact we can have as a team and league.”
He added: “By harnessing the power of technology and innovation and leveraging the skill and expertise of the game’s most transcendent and accomplished player, our team is well positioned for long-term success."
