English soccer giants Arsenal have added to their commercial team with the appointment of Omar Mohammed Shaikh as their new partnership sales director.
Shaikh joins from Premier League rivals Liverpool, where he was vice president of commercial development. He has previously worked as a strategy consultant for Accenture, as well as a contractor for Lloyds and F&C Asset Management.
In the new role, Shaikh will lead Arsenal’s partnership development team with the aim of driving commercial growth, with a focus on bringing in new business and renewal of existing partnerships.
Shaikh’s arrival follows the appointment of four other senior commercial team members in August.
The club appointed Giulia Mazzia as head of commercial ventures, Jodie Sayer as head of brand and marketing, Stuart Milne as head of partner services, and Kylie Andrew as head of digital and insights.
Arsenal’s chief commercial officer Juliet Slot said: “Omar's appointment is another example of our investment in bringing world-class industry leaders to join us on our journey and help us unlock our full commercial potential.
