The initial deal through which Macron snapped up these rights began in 2019, and ran through 2021-22.

Italian sportswear manufacturer Macron has extended its deal with European soccer's governing body UEFA, covering the supply of referees' kits.

Through a multi-year renewal unveiled yesterday (June 24), Macron will continue to provide the kits for UEFA referees across all major competitions.

The initial deal through which Macron snapped up these rights began in 2019, valued by GlobalData Sport at that time at $6 million in total.

This agreement covers both national team UEFA competitions, such as the men's and women's UEFA European Championships, as well as the Champions League club competition.

The extended deal has been unveiled in the build-up to the 2025 Women's Euro, with the 16-team tournament taking place in Switzerland between July 2 and 27.

In terms of Macron's other prominent soccer partnerships, it has a tie-up in place with Concacaf (the sport's governing body across North and Central America, and the Caribbean) through 2030.

The sportswear brand has also struck significant new deals across rugby union and cricket over the last year.

In its announcement of the UEFA partnership extension, Macron claimed that over the last six years - since the partnership was originally put in place - its revenue has risen from €113 million ($131 million) in 2019 to €224 million last year.

Prior to the Macron-UEFA deal, the referee kit supply rights had been held for seven years by Adidas, the German sportswear giant.
