Globo, the Brazilian media heavyweight, and the international sports broadcaster ESPN will retain rights to South American soccer’s Copa Libertadores club competition for the next cycle after agreeing a new deal with the Conmebol governing body.
The new agreement will see the broadcasters retain rights for the 2027-30 period.
Globo will keep exclusive rights to the Copa Libertadores on free-to-air television, while ESPN has secured the main package on pay television.
In addition, Globo will also keep the games on its digital channel GE TV on YouTube, which guarantees access to the competition both on television and online. This broadcast had already been occurring this year, following the channel's launch.
Disney-owned ESPN will have priority in choosing matches each round.
For the secondary Copa Sudamericana, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has acquired rights on free-to-air television, with Disney securing the main pay-TV package.
The Recopa Sudamericana, which is contested by the winner of the previous year's Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana, will be broadcast by Globo and ESPN.
The 2025 Copa Libertadores was recently won by Brazilian giants Flamengo, beating fellow Brazilian outfit Palmeiras in the final.
