Public service broadcaster France Télévisions secured impressive viewing figures for its coverage of the Coupe de France final.

The final of the country's top-tier men's soccer knockout competition, which saw Lens crowned champions after beating Nice, brought in an average of 4.06 million viewers, according to TV audience research firm Médiamétrie.

The figure represents a 25% increase in the audience numbers that tuned into last year's final between Paris Saint-Germain and Reims.

The peak audience for this year's final on May 22 was 5.3 million, which was registered at the final whistle, while the average of 4.06 million viewers represented an audience share of 24.7%

The game, in which Lens pulled out a two-goal lead before Nice briefly got back into the match, was also the most-watched TV program of the evening in France.

This was the last fixture of the current deal between France TV and the French Football Federation, which ran between 2022-23 and the conclusion of the 2025-26 cup. It has shown selected games over the past four seasons, with the others covered by BeIN Sports.

Currently, there is no deal in place for France TV to show any action from the next cycle of the Coupe de France; however, rights were snapped up by BeIN last December for the 2026-27 through 2029-30 cycle, and as there is no deal in place with a co-broadcaster (as is mandated).

The BeIN contract states that 10 of the 63 matches per season shown by that partner need to be co-broadcast.
