World Table Tennis (WTT), the organization that manages the International Table Tennis Federation’s (ITTF) commercial rights, has confirmed that the season-ending WTT Finals will take place at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Arena.
The event, which will take place from December 9 to 13, was initially supposed to take place at the Hong Kong Coliseum, but has been moved to accommodate the venue’s shift in approach to hosting more concerts,

Kai Tak Arena sits within the Kai Tak Sports Park, a 2025 multi-purpose development aimed at bringing more major sports events to the city.
The sports park has already hosted snooker’s elite World Grand Prix event (moved to Hong Kong from the UK) in 2025 and 2026, as well as the annual Hong Kong SVNS rugby event, FIVB Volleyball Nations League fixtures, high-profile European soccer pre-season friendlies, and more.
The 2026 WTT Finals represent the second year of WTT’s three-year finals hosting deal with the city of Hong Kong.
The first of the three, the 2025 WTT Finals (which took place at the Coliseum), drew a reported 87,000 spectators.
While the move to a more sports-focused venue may seem like a positive strategic move in terms of organizer and fan experience, the Kai Tak Arena is around 4,000 seats smaller than the 10,000-seat Coliseum, which may present issues when trying to match attendance outcomes from the previous season and, perhaps crucially, may also drive up ticket prices.
Broadcast rights to WTT and ITTF events in China are held by streaming service Migu until 2028, rights it has held since 2021, through which it shows all WTT’s Grand Smashes, WTT Champions, WTT Star Contenders, WTT Contenders, WTT Finals, and the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals each year.
Table tennis is among the most popular sports in China due to the country’s level of success, having won five gold medals and one silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
