Motorcycling’s FIM World Supercross Championship is expanding its direct-to-consumer distribution and monetisation strategy for the 2026 season through an expanded partnership with Recast, the UK-based media monetisation solution (formerly a sports streaming platform).

For the upcoming campaign, the series will broaden the ways customers can purchase content, connect event ticketing with digital consumption, and increase the commercial contribution of riders and motorsport publishers.

The strategy will create additional revenue opportunities alongside World Supercross’s existing broadcast agreements, “while providing greater control over its content, pricing, first-party customer data and commercial relationships.”

World Supercross claims to have generated more than $500,000 in direct content purchases from approximately 23,000 customers across more than 70 countries using Recast in 2025.

The series partnered with Recast last year to offer flexible, pay-per-view access to extended coverage of the 2025 Championship.

Recast’s platform allowed content to be distributed directly to fans through a global network of riders and approved third-party affiliates, in addition to existing broadcast partnerships.

For the 2026 season, World Supercross will use Recast’s content bundle technology to introduce a wider range of content access through its W+ streaming service, including a Championship Season Pass, individual race-weekend passes, a Bonus Content Pass and a Highlights Pass, as well as direct, pay-per-view access to specific pieces of content.

Race-weekend bundles will combine live main-event coverage, qualifying, highlights, and additional programming in a single purchase.

World Supercross said the broader range of options will allow it to “serve different levels of demand, create more purchasing opportunities throughout the season, and increase the commercial return generated by its content.”

Fans purchasing an in-person ticket to any of the championship’s six race weekends will also receive a discount code for access to content on W+.

In addition, World Supercross will continue to distribute premium content through riders and approved motorsport publishers during the 2026 season.

Riders will be able to offer World Supercross content directly to their followers and participate in the revenue generated from resulting purchases.

Approved publishers will also be able to make World Supercross content available within established motorsport media environments and participate in the revenue they generate.

Andy Meikle, founder and CEO of Recast, said: “We’re delighted to be expanding our partnership with World Supercross, which continues to demonstrate how forward-thinking sports properties can unlock greater value for their audiences and wider commercial ecosystem.

“By connecting content, ticketing, brands, riders, and distribution partners through Recast, World Supercross can build a more integrated commercial model that converts demand into revenue and shares that value across the network.”

Scott McCubbin, CCO of Bia Sports Group, added: “For 2026, we are building on last year's success by creating more ways to purchase content, increasing the value available to ticket buyers and continuing to reach new audiences through riders and established motorsport publishers.

“Recast allows us to develop these additional revenue and distribution channels alongside our existing broadcast partnerships, while retaining control over how our content is packaged, priced, and commercialised.”

The six-race 2026 World Supercross season begins on August 8 with the Canadian Grand Prix.
