Wasserman, the sports marketing and talent representation agency based in the US, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the UK agency CSM Sport and Entertainment.

The deal was confirmed in a short statement by Wasserman today (July 19), with the US firm adding that the tie-up is expected to close in the third quarter of 2023.

At this point, no financial details about the transaction, which will increase Wasserman’s international portfolio, have been released.

Reports that a deal between the two parties was in the offing first surfaced earlier this week.

The investment and buyout firm Providence Equity Partners is an investor in both Wasserman and Chime Communications, the parent company of CSM.

Providence invested in Wasserman last November, having acquired Chime in two stages, split across 2015 and 2019.
