Volleyball World, the commercial arm of the sport’s FIVB governing body, has announced a renewal to its tie-up with the continental Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) running through 2052.
Announced at the 26th annual AVC General Assembly on August 8, the deal ensures that the pair will remain committed to a consistent commercial framework for the foreseeable future.

This deal, which once again positions Volleyball World as the exclusive commercial partner of the AVC, and it will will remain responsible for the commercial development of its competitions through sponsorship agreements, media rights negotiations, and events host partnerships.
That list of competitions includes the national team men’s and women’s Volleyball Continental Championship, Volleyball Cup, and Beach Volleyball Continental Championships, as well as the club level men’s and women’s AVC Volleyball Champions League.
The first tie-up between the two was signed in 2022 for an initial eight-year term (2024-32). Since that agreement started, the AVC has seen prize money for the aforementioned tournaments increase, with “expanded media distribution” and ‘modernized’ branding part of the pair’s push to reform competition across the continent.
The long-term nature of this 20-year extension perhaps illustrates Volleyball World’s view of the growth potential for the sport in the Asian market.
To this end, Volleyball World president Ugo Valensi said: “This extension is a powerful vote of confidence in what Volleyball World and the AVC have achieved together and, more importantly, in what lies ahead.
“Volleyball is growing faster in Asia than anywhere else in the world, and this partnership puts us in a position to shape that growth together — across both AVC and FIVB competitions. Our partnership has already delivered meaningful progress across competitions, commercial development and fan engagement, and this extension gives us the opportunity to achieve even more together.
"We are creating the long-term stability needed to make bold decisions, invest in the future and continue raising the standard of volleyball across Asia. We look forward to building on this momentum with the AVC and its National Federations for many years to come."
