uniqFEED, the Swiss-based provider of virtual advertising software, has developed a dedicated virtual advertising solution for the soccer market.
This marks uniqFEED’s first entry into soccer and “the acceleration of its partnerships and collaborations with existing clients within the sport.”
The company said its software will enable rightsholders to “maximize the commercial potential of advertising inventory within sports venues.”
Through the technology, digital content can be placed directly into the broadcast feed of a live soccer match, by replacing existing advertising (such as LED boards and first-tier fascias) or by adding new virtual signage positions (such as virtual goal side mats, and pre-game center circle promotions).
The Swiss firm stated that this will allow the same inventory to be utilized several times by different brands with the creation of multiple virtual feeds. It also allows brands to tailor their advertising content for different markets.
The solution is software-based and has been developed to be compatible with any type of in-venue equipment, such as cameras and LED boards, meaning no additional hardware is required.

uniqFEED’s entry into soccer will see it compete with established players in the virtual advertising space such as UK-based Supponor and fellow Swiss company AIM Sport.
The company’s soccer clients include the Swiss Football League.
Tom Huston, uniqFEED’s chief commercial officer, said: “Football is a natural and important evolution for our multi-sport AdApt software solution.
“I see all football rightsholders developing new commercial strategies that deliver added value to sponsors, while simultaneously generating new revenues from targeted virtual in-game advertising in different markets.
“The industry will need high-quality technology providers like uniqFEED to help them deliver for their partner brands and grow their businesses.”
uniqFEED appointed Huston as its commercial chief in January.
