The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) governing body has announced the renewal of its partnership with sports marketing and entertainment company SX Global which will see the firm continue to promote the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) global series for another 10 years.

SX Global will now promote the annual series through the end of the 2033 season and holds the option to extend that further for another decade.

FIM president Jorge Viegas stated of the announcement: “The FIM believes that SX Global has the expertise and know-how to deliver a first-class World Supercross Championship long into the future. Their vision is highly impressive, and the long-term success of this series is in safe hands.”

SX Global first won the contract to promote WSX in 2010 on a 10-year deal, but in September 2023 the company was purchased by an investor group headed by  27-year-old French businessman Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Uruguayan businessman and senator Juan Sartori.

Louis-Dreyfus added: “I would like to pass on my sincere gratitude to the FIM, particularly Jorge Viegas and the FIM board, for entrusting us with the next 10 years of the FIM World Supercross Championship.

“We look forward to continuing to expand and promote the FIM WSX, as we seek innovative and exciting ways to bring the sport to the loyal existing fanbase, while welcoming new audiences from across the globe.”

SX Global restarted WSX, stadium supercross racing’s premier championship, in 2022 after it split from the AMA Supercross Championship, which it had been merged with since 2008.

Since its purchase by the new consortium, SX Global has sought to expand the competition’s horzions internationally from the previous US-centric hosting focus.

The FIM said in the release announcing the new SX Global contract that the competition would be entering new territories across multiple continents for its 2024 edition, the schedule of which has not yet been announced.

WSX already did as much in the 2023 season, hosting its first-ever Asian Grand Prix, in Singapore.
