Global sports subscription service DAZN is now the exclusive local media rights partner of the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, last season's losers in the NBA Finals.
Through a significant deal between the platform and the Texas-based franchise, DAZN becomes the exclusive provider of all Spurs games that will not be made available to national TV audiences throughout the upcoming 2026-27 season.

This tie-up comes on the back of DAZN sealing a similar deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this week.
The streamer has also partnered with the Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, last week, Monumental Sports Network, the regional sports channel for the Washington, DC area, announced a new distribution deal with DAZN through which it will carry its Monumental+ app that provides local Washington Wizards broadcasts.
The Spurs agreement will see all regular-season games that are not covered by the NBA's array of national domestic broadcast partners covered live by the DAZN app, which can be found via a range of devices.
All pre-season games will also be available for free (with fans who sign up receiving an immediate week-long free trial).
There will also be pre- and post-game content on the app, as well as highlights and behind-the-scenes programming.
The platform will serve audiences in the southern, western, and central parts of Texas.
The NBA franchise – the 2025-26 NBA Western Conference champions – will still manage the production of games for broadcast.
In addition, 22 Spurs games in the 2026-27 NBA regular season will also be broadcast over-the-air by a local linear TV network.
The upcoming NBA season gets underway on October 20, with pre-season fixtures beginning on October 3.
The Spurs – who lost 4-1 in the NBA Finals to the New York Knicks – begin their regular season with a home clash against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
DAZN is set to partner with several of the 13 NBA teams whose rights are on the market after Main Street Sports Group (MSSG), owner of the now-defunct regional broadcast network FanDuel Sports Network, announced it was winding down operations earlier this year.
At the beginning of 2026, DAZN was in talks to acquire MSSG, and with it a wide swathe of local MLB, NBA, and NHL rights, but that deal never came to fruition, with MSSG then falling into insolvency following the 2025-26 NHL campaign.
DAZN made its long-awaited entry into the US local broadcast market earlier this year, sweeping up the local rights to New York’s NBA, MLB, and NHL teams through a pair of new carriage agreements with MSG Networks (MSGN) and YES Network.
As part of that deal, DAZN becomes the exclusive direct-to-consumer streaming home of seven elite New York-area (city and state) sports teams, including the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.
Last month, the Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic franchises each announced new local broadcast deals with Cox Communications for the 2026-27 campaign.
While linear rights on the local level have been confirmed, both the Magic and the Hornets have said that they will announce local streaming rights at a later date, with reports suggesting that DAZN will continue its local rights push in the two markets.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, however, have decided to go down a different route, announcing a new hybrid broadcast model to show games locally in the 2026-27 season.
The franchise last week unveiled the Thunder Gameday Network, which includes Thunder+, a new direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service available through the NBA App across the five-state Thunder broadcast region.
In addition, there is enhanced local and regional television distribution through Griffin Media, Cox, DirecTV, and other participating providers. The options also include a select number of free over-the-air games.
