Munich (Germany) and Barcelona (Spain) will host the finals of European men's soccer's elite UEFA Champions League (UCL) in 2028 and 2029, respectively.
UEFA, the game's European governing body, unveiled the host cities and stadia for the finals of its 2027-28 and 2028-29 club competitions following an executive committee meeting earlier today.

It was also decided that the national stadiums of Romania and Belgrade – in Bucharest and Belgrade – will stage the 2027-28 and 2028-29 second-tier Europa League finals, respectively, while the venues for the third-tier Conference League finals in those seasons were also allocated – Turin in 2027-28, and Budapest in 2028-29.
Finally, the Women's Champions League (UWCL) will take its showpiece fixture to Lyon's Parq Olympique Lyonnais in 2028, and then to Cardiff's National Stadium of Wales in 2029, while the men's annual season-opening Super Cup fixture will take place in Amsterdam (2027) and then Astana (2028).
Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena hosted the UCL final in 2012 and then again last year, while the iconic Camp Nou in Barcelona – currently undergoing major redevelopment, which is now significantly delayed – has not staged that fixture since the 1998-99 campaign.
Spanish soccer heavyweights Barcelona are understood to be working towards a new target of having the stadium ready for either the end of 2027 or early 2028 at the very latest.
The Spotify Camp Nou will have a total capacity, when redevelopment is complete, of 105,000, while the Allianz in Munich has a capacity of just over 75,000.
The Munich venue also staged six games at UEFA's men's national team 2024 European Championships, including one of the two semi-finals.
In addition, it has staged two games from American football's NFL over the past four years, and will host another this coming November.
The Camp Nou staging the showpiece match in 2029 comes one year before Spain is set to co-host the 2030 men's FIFA World Cup (alongside – mainly – Portugal and Morocco).
The 2026-27 UCL final, taking place next June, will also be held in Spain, meanwhile, at Atlético Madrid's Metropolitano Stadium.
The UWCL final will be held in Warsaw, Poland, while Frankfurt in Germany and Turkey's Istanbul will stage the Europa League and Conference League finals.
