The new division will be led by Dan Miodownik (who becomes its president) and Luc-Antoine Charial (taking charge as chief executive), who both join after lengthy stints at the Host Broadcast Services (HBS) firm owned by the Infront agency.

At HBS, Miodownik and Charial were both involved in the production for broadcast of a wide range of top-tier sporting properties, including soccer's FIFA World Cup, the Rugby World Cup, tennis' French and US Opens, and the World Athletics Championships.

Miodownik had been CEO since 2018, while Charial was COO at HBS during the same period.

This expansion aims to turn Relevent into a partner that can provide all aspects of media services to its partner soccer properties – the most prominent of which is Europe's UEFA.

Relevent was unveiled as the continental body's exclusive marketing and sales partner for its range of national team competitions between 2028 and 2036 last week, replacing CAA Eleven in this role. This adds to its similar role for UEFA's club competitions.

The agency has said this new arm will provide end-to-end broadcast production, project management, multi-platform content creation, and innovative technology integration to its clients.

Boris Gartner, Relevent's chief executive, commented: "By bringing broadcast production in-house, with two incredibly experienced and well-respected leaders in Dan and Luc-Antoine at the helm, we can now shape how a competition looks, feels, and reaches fans, from the moment rights are sold, through the final whistle."

In addition to having both club and national team competition rights deals in place with UEFA, Relevent is also a partner of Spain's LaLiga – through a 20-year North and Central America joint venture – as well as Germany's Bundesliga, and the second-tier English Football League.

Charial added: "I'm delighted to be joining Relevent and look forward to developing its new production arm, while supporting its clients and welcoming new partners in soccer and beyond. I am eager to bring my experience in business development and broadcast to Relevent Media Services."

Charial and Miodownik had worked at HBS since 2000 and 2004, respectively, before both stepping down from their roles at at the end of September (as was announced in April).

Before joining HBS 22 years ago, Miodownik also held senior roles at companies including Sky Sports, ITV Sport, and Team Marketing.
