Genius Sports, the international sports data and technology company, has signed a partnership with English soccer’s top-tier Premier League’s Premier League Productions (PLP) in-house media arm.
The deal aims to enhance live broadcasts in over 185 countries with tracking data insights and data-driven augmentations.
As part of the partnership between PLP, the Premier League, Football DataCo, and Genius Sports, PLP broadcasts will now feature a live Premier League Data Zone viewing mode, adding statistics and tracking metrics in a featured match each round.
These stats and metrics include player names, passing accuracy, shot speeds, sprints, total distance traveled, touches in the final third, and pitch maps.
The Data Zone viewing mode will also integrate Fantasy Premier League updates and rankings into the broadcast.
Mark Locke, chief executive of Genius Sports, said: “Through Premier League Productions and their international broadcast partners, Genius Sports is revolutionizing the viewing experience for millions of Premier League fans around the world.

PLP produces and distributes all 380 Premier League matches for international programming every season, and the Data Zone viewing mode has already been used by NBC Sports, Sky Sports, Optus Australia, ESPN Brazil, and Canal+ France, all of whom will resume this weekend with Arsenal vs Manchester City on October 8.
Last week, Genius Sports launched BetVision, an interactive application for sportsbooks that aims to combine live streams with aspects such as statistics, bet slips, and real-time augmentations.
Genius is unveiling BetVision initially with the use of live game video from American football’s NFL – for which league Genius is the exclusive distributor of data and in-game video streams to sportsbooks.
