European golf's top-tier DP World Tour, its equivalent US PGA Tour, and the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia have expanded and extended their existing partnership.

Through a partnership renewal unveiled yesterday, running through 2027, the long-running agreement between the European Tour (called the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons) and the Australasian property will continue for at least the next year.

In addition, the BMW Australian PGA Championship has now had its status as a co-sanctioned DP World Tour tournament for another three years, thus strengthening the field of players who will compete at that event significantly. This year, that will include Australian star Min Woo Lee.

This comes with the 2026 event set to take place between November 26 and 29, at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney.

The PGA Tour has said this extension will involve the three golfing organizations continuing "to work together across player pathways and playing opportunities, tournament development, player services, and broader commercial opportunities."

The initial tie-up between the European Tour and the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia began in 2017, with the most recent extension having been struck back in 2022.

The PGA Tour, through its strategic alliance with its European counterpart, also supports these strategic relationships.

Both the PGA Tour and the European Tour also recently tied up with the Golf Australia body.

Gavin Kirkman, chief executive for the PGA of Australasia, as well as for the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia, commented: "Our partnership with the DP World Tour and PGA Tour has delivered genuine outcomes over a number of years. Prize money and events across our tour have grown, our players have greater access to international opportunities, we have strengthened exemptions into major championships and other significant events, and our broadcast and commercial platform has continued to develop."

Christian Hardy, the PGA Tour's senior vice president of international, added: "By working more closely with the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia and the DP World Tour, we can strengthen pathways for players, create more meaningful opportunities across our Tours and help ensure the Australasian region remains an important part of the global golf ecosystem.”
