Omega, the luxury Swiss watch brand, has deepened its ties to sailing’s iconic America’s Cup race after signing up as the official timekeeper of the 2027 edition.

Under the agreement, Omega will provide the official results and timings for the 38th America’s Cup event, which is due to take place in Naples, Italy, from July 10.

The deal also covers the return of the Women’s America’s Cup and the Youth America’s Cup

As part of the agreement, Omega will continue its long-standing partnership with Emirates Team New Zealand, which began in 1995 and has continued for over 30 years.

Next year’s America’s Cup will be a ‘best of 13’ format between two teams – the incumbent champions Emirates Team New Zealand and the winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup (the Challenger Selection Series), which will be competed during the Spring of 2027.

It will mark the fifth time that Omega has served as timekeeper for the event, having already timed the America’s Cup in 2000, 2003, 2021, and 2024.

The new agreement comes amid several new deals secured by organizers, most recently with IMG Licensing, a branch of the WME Group media heavyweight, which has signed up as the event’s exclusive global licensing agency.

Earlier this month, financial services firm Unicredit joined as a major worldwide partner of the iconic sailing race, while January saw luxury goods giant Louis Vuitton extend its tenure as its title sponsor.

In January, the America's Cup Partnership (ACP), a new governing partnership agreement aimed at modernizing the event, was also confirmed.

The ACP was formed in December by reigning America’s Cup champion Emirates Team New Zealand (New Zealand), challenger of record Athena Racing (Great Britain), Luna Rossa (Italy), Tudor Team Alinghi (Switzerland), and K-Challenge (France) in a bid to modernize the major sailing event.

These teams will operate under a collective framework governing both sporting and commercial aspects, with a shared revenue system and cost control measures enforced to ensure greater financial sustainability and maintain parity between competing organizations.

Earlier this month, the ACP named Marzio Perrelli as its first chief executive. Perrelli’s career to date has seen him work within finance, media strategy, and sports rights management. He joins after working across finance in the UK, USA, and Italy, where he held senior leadership roles at both Goldman Sachs and HSBC.
