North American ice hockey’s NHL has secured additional local streaming coverage for four teams during the 2026-27 season via a carriage agreement with FuboTV, the sports-focused US streaming platform owned by media giant Disney.

Under the multi-year agreement, FuboTV will carry four regional sports networks (RSNs) covering the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues from the 2026-27 campaign – getting underway today – allowing local fans in those designated broadcast markets to watch their teams’ games live.

Fubo subscribers will gain access to the regional networks through base plans starting at $88.99 per month, with additional regional sports fees between $3.99 to $16.99 depending on the region.

The package includes coverage of national broadcasts through channels including NHL Network, ESPN, and ABC, which is part of Fubo’s base programming.

Todd Mathers, executive vice president of content strategy and acquisition at Fubo, said: “Hockey fans in the Carolinas, Columbus, Minnesota, and St. Louis can enjoy coverage of their favorite teams on Fubo this season.

“The addition of these RSNs to our already robust local sports coverage means Fubo subscribers can continue to enjoy their favorite local teams despite recent shifts in sports rights ownership.”

The carriage agreement comes days after the NHL announced a multi-year carriage agreement with Spectrum, the cable TV service of US telecoms giant Charter Communications, to provide linear distribution for the same four sides.

The agreements ensure fans of the quartet now have a range of options to watch their teams play alongside main local pay-TV coverage via Amazon’s Prime Video, with that network having secured a multi-year broadcast agreement with the NHL covering the Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Wild and Blues.

Games featuring the six franchises are available on Prime Video to fans within each franchise's regional territory, and subscribers in each market will have access to regular-season games, inclusive of pre- and post-game shows, and additional team programming.

The partnership added to Prime Video's portfolio of local sports team coverage, including deals to distribute the Seattle Kraken, MSG Networks, CHSN, NESN, Peacock, NBC Sports Network RSN’s in Boston, Philadelphia, and the Bay Area, SNY, YES Network, and Marquee Sports Network, with Amazon set in the process of finalizing more agreements.

The NHL itself has taken over the production and distribution of broadcasts for several teams that were left without local media rights agreements after the collapse of previous rights holder Main Street Sports Group.

Main Street operated 15 regional channels under the FanDuel Sports Network brand and went out of business at the conclusion of this past season.

Alongside the Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, and Blues, the NHL is also producing broadcasts for the Anaheim Ducks and Dallas Stars this year, who have chosen to place their local broadcasts exclusively on Prime Video, rather than a hybrid model that includes a pay-TV option.

The 2026-27 NHL season begins on September 29.
