Digital asset platform Nexo has doubled down on its ties to golf’s DP World Tour with a new agreement to retain title sponsorship rights to the Scottish Championships.
The new agreement will see the event continue to be called the Nexo Championships for the 2026 edition, which will take place from August 20 to 23 at the Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

The tournament is the penultimate event in the DP World Tour’s closing swing – the fifth and final swing that makes up the first phase of the tour’s 2026 season – and will feature an increased prize fund of $3 million.
Ben Cowen, chief tournament and operations officer at DP World Tour, said: “We are pleased to have reached this new agreement with both Nexo and Trump International Golf Links for the Nexo Championship to again be part of our global schedule, and we thank them for their continued commitment.
“The Trump International Old Course has earned a reputation as one of the leading new links courses in the United Kingdom, and it was a great backdrop for last year’s tournament. With the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship taking place on our Staysure Legends Tour at the start of August, it is set to be another fantastic month of golf in Aberdeen this summer.”
The new deal builds on the pair’s original partnership struck in July 2025, which saw Nexo become the tour’s first cryptocurrency partner as part of a three-year deal running until 2027.
As part of the deal, Nexo took title rights to the Scottish Championships for the 2025 edition and became the official partner to six tournaments, including the Genesis Scottish Open, the BMW PGA Championship, the Abu Dhabi Championship, and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
The agreement builds on Nexo’s strategy to increase its visibility through sports sponsorships, having most recently secured a regional sponsorship with the Argentine Football Association ahead of the men’s national team’s participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Earlier this year, Nexo signed up to become the inaugural official digital asset partner of the new Audi Formula 1 motor racing team and has four tennis partnerships in place with the ATP Tour, Tennis Australia (TA), the ATP 500 Dallas Open, the ATP 500 Acapulco Open, and the ATP 250 Los Cabos Open.
