NYRA Content Management Solutions (NCMS), a subsidiary of the New York Racing Association (NYRA) thoroughbred racing organizer in the state, has entered into an international distribution agreement with 1/st Content, the media and content business covering North American horse racing.

The 10-year partnership is intended to “dramatically expand the availability of North American horse racing content throughout international markets.”

It consolidates 1/st Content – one of the 1/st Group’s racing subsidiaries that also cover technology, betting, and property – as the “world’s premier international distributor of North American horse racing content,” according to a press release.

Under the deal, which is based on broadcast distribution and video streaming, 1/st Content will deliver coverage of more than 3,000 days of racing each year from top North American racetracks via its international distribution network and direct-to-home rights in the UK and Ireland, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa.

Among the venues covered will be Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park, Golden Gate Fields, The Maryland Jockey Club at Laurel Park, and Pimlico Race Course, all of 1/st Content’s sister company 1/st Racing, and NYRA’s Belmont Park, Aqueduct Racetrack, and Saratoga Race Course, as well as Del Mar, Keeneland, Tampa Bay Downs, and Woodbine.

NCMS also acquires an equity stake in the 1/st Content subsidiary TSG Global Wagering Solutions, which distributes horse racing content to global markets.

Gregg Colvin, chief executive of 1/st Content, said: “This agreement ensures that North American horse racing stakeholders are the primary beneficiaries of revenues generated through international wagering, further strengthening the domestic industry for the next generation of fan and bettor.”

Tony Allevato, chief revenue officer at NYRA, added: “NCMS is pleased to expand on our strategic partnership with 1/st Content to further broaden the international reach of North American Thoroughbred racing. Sports fans and bettors around the world can look forward to more coverage of top-quality racing than ever before.”

Last year, Fox Sports, the sports arm of the US national television network, agreed an expanded long-term betting and media rights partnership with NYRA.
