Svensk Elitfotboll, the organizing body for the top two men’s soccer leagues in Sweden, has hired Jessica Linnman, formerly a senior employee at Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), as chief commercial officer.
Linnman will be responsible for sales, partner relations, events, market and business development. She will take up the role in mid-2024.
She served as vice president of communications for WBD in the Nordics between December 2021 and April last year. Following that position, she has spent time running the marketing and communications department for the International Ice Hockey Federation’s 2025 World Championships (which are being co-hosted by Sweden and Denmark).
Before the Warner Bros and Discovery merger, she had worked at Discovery since May 2020.
Commenting on her new role, she said: “It feels incredibly fun to once again be able to work with the Allsvenskan and the Superettan, with the commercial rights but also to be involved and strengthen the brand work.
“There are several challenges with the current situation in the industry, but I believe that together with the clubs we will be able to build Swedish elite soccer even stronger.”
Johan Lindvall, general secretary at the Svensk Elitfotboll, added: “Jessica has a long and extensive experience in the areas that were important to us in this recruitment. As a former partner of ours, she also knows both SEF and our members well."
The top Swedish soccer league, the Allsvenskan, contains 16 clubs, with the regular season running between late March and early November.
WBD is the league’s domestic rights-holder through 2025.
