US media giant Liberty Media has completed its acquisition of QuintEvents, the travel and events company that provides ticketing and hospitality services for major sports and entertainment rightsholders.
Liberty, which also owns motor racing’s Formula 1 (F1), has purchased more than 90% of Quint for $313 million. The deal was initially agreed in September.
The company will be attributed to Liberty Media’s Formula One Group. F1 and Quint will continue to be operated as separate companies, however.
Greg Maffei, Liberty Media president and chief executive, said: “Quint is a great addition to Liberty Media, extending our reach in premium experiences and capitalizing on continued growth in the global experiential economy.
“We aim to leverage our relationships in sports and live events to expand Quint’s portfolio of new business, provide more one-of-a-kind opportunities to fans, and increase efficiency in the ticketing distribution ecosystem.”
Brian Ruede, Quint’s chief executive, added: “This is a transformative moment for Quint’s future. Our expertise in the global experiential economy and Liberty Media’s strong relationships in sports and live entertainment will make for a dynamic team.

By GlobalData“We will look to aggressively expand our services and strategic portfolio of partnerships to become the most comprehensive experiential platform in the world. We are just getting started.”
Quint already has a relationship with Liberty through a hospitality-focused partnership with F1.
Since 2017, QuintEvents has operated F1 Experiences, which offers exclusive fan package experiences and trackside hospitality at races.
Liberty said the enhanced partnership “creates numerous growth opportunities within F1 and for Quint’s other partnerships like the NBA [basketball], Kentucky Derby [horse racing], and MotoGP [motorcycling].”
QuintEvents also serves as the official ticketing provider for the LIV Golf series, through a deal announced in 2022.
