IMG, the global sports and entertainment agency, and the international MGM corporation have today (June 28) unveiled the MGM Macau Tennis Masters, a six-player invitational event that will take place for the first time in December.
The inaugural version of the Macau Masters will be staged in the Macao East Asian Games Dome, the Chinese coastal city’s largest indoor sports facility. MGM will act as the presenting partner for the event, across December 2 and 3.
The event will feature four men’s ATP and two women’s WTA players, competing across six matches in total.
Three of tennis’ rising stars – Belinda Bencic, Taylor Fritz, and Frances Tiafoe – have already confirmed as participating.
The other trio of players will be unveiled in July, at which point ticket sales will also be launched.
Robbie Henchman, IMG’s president of global partnerships, said: “We’re thrilled IMG was able to bring this first-class event to Macau. It is going to be a truly fantastic couple of days for tennis fans in the region, and an exciting first, as it brings stars from men’s and women’s tennis together in Macau for the first time.”

Our company is committed to constantly bringing fresh impetus to the city’s sports tourism.

Earlier this month, IMG and the ATP struck an agreement to bring an ATP Tour event to Hong Kong, close to Macau, for the first time in 21 years.
A third-tier ATP 250 tournament will take place there next year, replacing the ATP 250 event in Pune India. IMG, the tournament’s owners, had made a relocation request which was then approved by the tennis body.
