Genius Sports, the international sports data and technology company, has entered into an integrity partnership with Malaysia’s Major Basketball League (MBL), the top-tier domestic competition, to combat the threat of match-fixing.
Through the tie-up, Genius will provide the competition with a “comprehensive” integrity program to identify, combat, and prevent match-fixing.

The company’s Bet Monitoring System will use artificial intelligence to analyze global wagering activity on Malaysian basketball, cross-referencing real-time odds movements with proprietary predictive algorithms to automatically flag potentially suspicious activity.
Through its global team of integrity operators, Genius will examine all monitoring data to provide MBL with reports and data-driven analysis.
In addition, it will provide model rules and regulations to offer “robust foundations” for the league’s new integrity program.
Genius will also deliver educational workshops, helping players, officials, and coaches to understand how match-fixers operate, where they should report any attempts to manipulate games, and the personal and professional consequences for not doing so.
