Flamengo, one of Brazilian top-tier soccer’s traditional powerhouses, has turned to the international sports marketing agency Sportfive to assist in its global growth plans.

The agency will provide services towards developing the club’s international strategy such as assisting with its English-language digital services, developing its commercial assets, and growing the live events production side of Flamengo’s business.

The partnership was brokered by the JL Sports Investment firm and will be focused on English-speaking markets for the most part – most notably the US.

The club – which has won two Copa Libertadores trophies and eight Brasileiro Serie A titles – is now looking to “build on the foundation of success and popularity to grow its brand, engage with fans, and expand its commercial prospects”, Sportfive has said.

The agency will provide Flamengo with a dedicated team split between New York in the US and Hamburg in Germany.
