FIBA, basketball's global governing body, has renewed its major, long-running, commercial partnership with Swiss watch brand Tissot.
A multi-year deal extension has been announced today, through which Tissot will continue as the official FIBA timekeeper and a global partner.

The first tie-up between the two parties was struck in 2008, while the last contract renewal dates back to July 2021 (and was due to run through 2027 – this, therefore, represents an early extension).
That last deal from five years ago was valued by GlobalData Sport at $2.5 million to FIBA annually.
This extension covers tournaments such as the 2031 Basketball World Cup in France, and the 2030 Women's Basketball World Cup in Japan. Tissot will also hold commercial rights "across all other leading FIBA competitions," including Olympic qualifying events, FIBA Continental Cups, and Youth World Cups.
Over the last few years, the Swiss brand has been associated with FIBA's Most Valuable Player awards, as well as with key plays that take place very late in games, known as 'buzzer beaters'.
In terms of recent FIBA commercial activity, September has already seen a new global deal with Chinese car brand Jetour unveiled.
Aside from its FIBA deal, Tissot has deals with basketball properties such as the NBA and the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation.
Elsewhere in basketball, Italian sportswear brand Errea has struck a deal to become the kit supply partner of the ACB, the organizing body for the top Spanish league.
A multi-year tie-up to that effect was announced late last week, through which Errea is now responsible for supplying technical kit for both ACB staff, as well as for "supporting merchandising activities and major institutional events" for the ACB.
Errea already has a similar tie-up with top basketball competition in Poland.
The partnership between the two parties will officially launch at the Supercopa Endesa, taking place near Barcelona on September 19 and 20.
