European basketball’s elite EuroLeague has confirmed that its season-ending Final Four tournament will return to Abu Dhabi, UAE, two more times before the end of the decade, in 2027 and 2029.

Abu Dhabi hosted the Final Four for the first time in 2025, becoming the first non-European city to do so, with the three-game event staged at the city’s 12,000-capacity Etihad Arena.

The 2027 edition will be staged at the Etihad Arena from May 28 to 30, serving as the conclusion of the current 2026-27 campaign.

EuroLeague chief executive Chus Bueno said: “Renewing our commitment with Abu Dhabi for the 2027 and 2029 Final Four editions represents another significant step forward in our international growth strategy.

“Our model of combining Europe's traditional basketball markets with global cities that offer world-class facilities, strong tourism appeal and passionate sports communities continues to prove highly successful. Abu Dhabi has become a key partner in that vision, and together we will continue bringing European club basketball to the widest possible global audience.”

The agreement builds on Euroleague Basketball’s long-term partnership with Abu Dhabi’s DCT, which earlier this year saw the Etihad Arena host the inaugural season-opening men’s SuperCup tournament.

In 2025, Abu Dhabi’s DCT and the UAE’s flag carrier airline Etihad Airways committed to the EuroLeague through 2029, a four-year deal that positions the two brands as main sponsors of EuroLeague competitions and presenting partners of the Final Four season climax.

The 2026 Final Four, held in Athens, Greece, featured Spanish giants Real Madrid, Valencia Basket, Türkiye’s Fenerbahçe, and eventual champions Olympiacos of Greece.

Through the first seven games of the 2026-27 EuroLeague regular season, Fenerbahçe and Greek giants Panathinaikos currently lead the standings with equal records of seven wins and one loss, although Panathinaikos holds the top spot with a superior points differential.
