Global sports and entertainment agency CAA Sports International has announced the appointment of Alex McGuire to oversee its sports media representation in the UK and Europe.
In the new role, McGuire will look to expand CAA’s portfolio of sports broadcast and on-air talent representations, with the agency already boasting the likes of CBS Sports soccer host Kate Abdo, NBA analyst Doris Burke, and most recently TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods.

CAA Sports International president Matthew O’Donohoe stated: “We are extremely focused on the continued growth and expansion of CAA Sports’ reach and resources in the UK, Europe, and Asia, through the addition of best-in-class agents and executives, and development of new service areas.”
McGuire will report directly to Matt Kramer and Tom Young, the co-heads of CAA Sports Media, with O’Donohoe adding: “Under the leadership of veteran agents Tom and Matt, CAA Sports Media has become the industry leader in the representation of sports broadcasters, and we are thrilled to bring this area of expertise to our clients.”
Kramer and Young spoke of McGuire’s appointment, saying: “Alex has a proven track of success for his clients, spanning traditional broadcast and new media platforms, and we are excited to work closely with him as we develop this expertise overseas.
“We saw an opportunity in the international sports marketplace to deliver our 360-degree approach to client service, to both established and emerging sports broadcasters, throughout the region.”

By GlobalDataHaving worked at CAA since 2023, McGuire joined the company from talent agency YMU, where he had worked for a decade, most recently serving as senior sports executive from January 2020 through to his departure.
Earlier in April, CAA announced the restructuring of its board membership following its 2023 acquisition by investment firm Artemis, which saw O’Donohoe announced as the co-chair of the new 27-member agency board.
Artemis completed its acquisition of CAA last September, purchasing the stake previously held by global investment company TPG.
