The LA28 organizing committee for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games has named US-based ticket company AXS and European ticket provider CTS Eventim as the joint official ticketing services providers for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Under their contract, the two companies will combine their international expertise to promote, sell, and distribute the ticket inventory globally and domestically for the two multi-sports games.

AXS’s parent company is Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), which is owned by Phillip Anschutz, owner of the NBA’s Kings and MLS’ Galaxy. AEG is one of the US’ largest live music and entertainment providers, which owns the Coachella Music Festival, with AXS the provider for more than 500 sports and entertainment venues.

EventIM, meanwhile, has a separate ticketing software agreement for this year’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The partnership will see the two companies launch a new ticketing platform, with the project spearheaded by AEG chief executive and former LA Clippers vice president Dan Beckerman and CTS EventIM chief executive Klaus-Peter Schulengerg.

Beckerman said: “Our combined expertise, along with our commitment to innovation and a fan-focused experience, will allow fans around the world to easily buy, transfer, and authenticate their tickets.

“We appreciate the confidence shown by [LA28 president and chairman] Casey Wasserman and the LA28 leadership team and look forward to welcoming millions of fans to Los Angeles for the world’s most important sporting competition.”

On Location, the premium hospitality and events business owned by global sports and entertainment giant Enedeavor, will work alongside AXS and CTS EventIM for LA28 as part of its remit as the exclusive hospitality provider for the Olympics until 2028.

On Location and CTS EventIM are also currently working together in the lead-up to this year’s Olympic Games in Paris.

On Location was appointed as the exclusive hospitality service provider for the Olympic program in June 2021, to work with future local organizing committees to deliver hospitality experiences for spectators and Olympic stakeholders covering Paris 2024, the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Schulenberg has commented: “When it comes to live sport, the Olympic and Paralympic Games are in a league of their own. Nothing can quite match being in the crowd as athletes give it their all for a chance of glory.

“As a company with two decades of Olympic ticketing experience and a passion for live experiences, we are honored that our technology and services will help bring fans to the incredible event that the LA28 committee are organizing.”

LA28, which is in the market for a new chief executive, will be held from July 14 to 30, while the Paralympic Games will run from August 15 to 27.
