The German national men's soccer team’s win over France on Saturday (March 23) drew a large audience of more than 10 million on public service broadcaster ZDF.

The country’s 2-0 victory in the friendly against France in Lyon was watched by 10.12 million as Germany gear up for this summer’s European Championship on home soil.

The match also secured an audience share for the network of 39.1%.

Germany’s 2-1 win over the same opponents last September also drew a huge audience as almost 10.4 million tuned in for that friendly on fellow public service broadcaster ARD.

That game had an audience share of more than 42% and was the second-largest viewership for a sports broadcast in 2023.

Preparations for Euro 2024 will continue tomorrow (March 26) as Germany take on the Netherlands in Frankfurt.
