Whisper, the UK-based sports broadcast production firm, has partnered with the sports division of video game giant Electronic Arts (EA).

Through the tie-up, the production company will provide event and broadcast services for EA Sports FC Pro tournaments exclusively on the EA Sports FC 24 online game platform.

EA Sports FC is the video game producer’s replacement for its FIFA series following the conclusion of its partnership with soccer's international governing body.

The brand will provide events and coverage that “hero the outstanding EA Sports FC 24 gameplay,” combining “impactful event presentation … with its dynamic, innovative approach to live broadcasting.”

The first event will be the FC Pro Open Qualifiers, between November 10 and 12 in London, UK.

Whisper will also cover the FC Pro Open (a weekly broadcast show beginning on November 27), and the eChampions League, a multi-stage tournament featuring the best players in Europe. The latter event will be held across May next year.

Whisper has said it will aim to use its production expertise to tell stories and build narratives across all stages of the series.

Geoff Riding, Whisper’s chief commercial officer, said: “This partnership marks an exciting step into esports for all at Whisper … Our aim is to feed the core EA Sports FC fanbase with our EA Sports FC Pro Open shows, with clarity in production and a focus on gameplay and also to hook the casual fan, with a next level Pro Cup final, including a live audience, live music, and creative staging that fuses incredible gameplay with pure spectacle.”

Earlier this month, Whisper was hired by the electric vehicle racing series Formula E to deliver live race coverage and programming for the 2024 season.

The new partnership will see Whisper produce English-language programming, including pre-and-post-race shows and live race content throughout season 10 of the competition, starting with the season-opening race in Mexico City on January 13, 2024.
