Heavyweight UK pay-TV broadcaster TNT Sports (formerly BT Sports) has secured exclusive rights across the UK and Northern Ireland to show North American basketball's NBA.

TNT Sports replaces previous rightsholder Sky Sports and will see the broadcaster air a minimum of nine NBA games per week for the duration of the season.

TNT Sports will also showcase high-profile NBA events such as the NBA All-Star game, the NBA Draft, and for inaugural NBA in-season tournament.

As TNT Sports is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, the NBA on TNT Sports will be available live and on-demand in the UK on the company’s Discovery+ streaming service.

TNT Sports will also broadcast weekly shows based around the NB including original programming, highlight packages, and classic game broadcasts.

The TNT brand has broadcast the NBA in the US since 1989.

Trojan Paillot, vice president of sports rights acquisitions and syndication for Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, stated: “When TNT Sports launched in July, we reaffirmed that premium rights were a priority for us, and the NBA falls squarely into that category.”

TNT Sport has been operational in the UK since July 2023, having announced in February that it would take over BT Sports.

The NBA also announced that the 2024 edition of the NBA Paris Game, wherein a regular season game is hosted in Paris, France, will be sponsored by global financial app Revolut.
Revolut has been named the presenting partner of the January 11 game, set to see the Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers face off.

Revolut customers will have access to a ticket pre-sale period, and the company will offer NBA prizes and merchandising discounts for fans.
