Tennis Channel, the US network dedicated to the sport, has hired sports technology company Sportradar to launch a new direct-to-consumer streaming platform early next year.
The service, owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, the US’ largest television station owner, is set to include a live feed of Tennis Channel programming, as well as live and on-demand matches and other original programming.
The platform will use Sportradar’s technology, including user experience design, and development of connected TV apps. It will also feature multi-channel video programming distributor integration for authenticated cable customers and dynamic advertising capabilities.
Patrick Mostboeck, senior vice president of audiovisual at Sportradar, said: “Tennis fans in the US deserve a dynamic viewing experience that delivers the best tennis content and live matches right to their fingertips.
“With Sportradar’s industry-leading data-driven, end-to-end OTT solution, Tennis Channel will have all the tools and capabilities to meet the needs of their fans all over the US. We are thrilled to work closely with Tennis Channel to deliver a platform that allows them to continue to grow engagement with the sport of tennis.”
The new contract expands Sportradar’s relationship with the Tennis Channel, having worked with the network since 2019 providing data and supporting its international platform.
