Spanish-language US broadcaster Telemundo has acquired the rights to Italian soccer’s top-flight Serie A on a multi-year basis.
The agreement encompasses the Spanish-language rights to the league, as well as the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana knockout competitions, and will run through the 2028-29 campaign.

Telemundo will provide “comprehensive” coverage of Italian soccer, spanning its Telemundo and Universo linear networks, the Peacock OTT streaming service, and Telemundo Deportes Ahora, its sports-focused FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) channel.
Coverage will be supported by shoulder content and ancillary programming throughout the season.
English-language rights to the 2026-27 Serie A campaign in the US are held by Paramount-owned CBS Sports, which has showcased the league since 2021.
In terms of US interest in Serie A, several high-profile national team players compete in the competition, including US team captain Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah (both AC Milan), Weston McKennie (Juventus), Gianluca Busio (Venezia), and Benja Cremaschi (Parma).
Much of the Spanish-language community in the US (and indeed the audience for Telemundo) stems from the country’s large Mexican diaspora, which accounts for as much as 11.2% of the population and close to 60% of all Hispanic US citizens.
Johan Vasquez of Genoa, who has been capped 50 times by the Mexican national team, is currently the sole Mexican in Serie A, and his image already features in Telemundo’s promotional material for its Serie A coverage.
For NBC, this is the latest addition to its burgeoning portfolio of soccer coverage on Telemundo.
Telemundo will also broadcast Germany's top-flight Bundesliga, also on a three-year deal, and the English Premier League, meaning that the addition of Serie A gives it the rights to three of Europe’s so-called ‘big five leagues.’
Most recently, the broadcaster acquired the rights to UEFA’s range of international club competitions, including the elite UEFA Champions League (UCL), second-tier Europa League, the third-tier Conference League, and the youth-category UEFA Youth League (as well as the relevant editions of the season-opening UEFA Super Cup each year), on a deal running from 2027-28 through the 2029-30 season.
Telemundo’s soccer portfolio also includes the US men’s and women’s national teams, Los Angeles 2028 Olympic soccer, and Mexico’s top-flight Liga MX coverage from major clubs CD Guadalajara, FC Juárez, and Tigres UANL (clubs in Liga MX sell international rights to their home games individually).
