SportyNet, the soccer-focused sports content platform in Brazil, has renewed its media rights deal for German soccer’s elite Bundesliga for another three years, ensuring free-to-air coverage of some league games through the 2028-29 season.
The platform will broadcast three fixtures per Bundesliga gameweek live on its platforms, two of which will be provided FTA, while the third will sit behind a paywall.

This will begin with the August 28 season opener between defending champions Bayern Munich and last year’s fourth-placed team VFB Stuttgart, which the platform will air for free.
The Bundesliga claims it is the most-watched European soccer competition in the Brazilian market, and in 2024 the number of fans of the league in Brazil had climbed to 24 million.
Currently, the Bundesliga has seven different broadcasters in Brazil, including prominent broadcaster Globo’s SporTV service, streamer Casemiro Miguel’s CazeTV streaming channel, YouTube channel Canal Goat, and commercial network Xsports.
Networks RedeTV, TV Cultura, and the OneFootball service (the league’s official distribution platform partner in the country) also factor into the equation.
Over the years, several prominent Brazilian players have set foot in the league, including legends such as Lucio, Ze Roberto, Ailton, Grafite, and Dante.
This season, RB Leipzig striker Romulo and Borussia Dortmund full-back Kauã Prates are among the seven Brazilians currently plying their trade in the division.
The platform, owned by the global sports and entertainment company, Sporty Group, also holds the rights to Mexican soccer’s top-flight Liga MX, among others.
Most recently, last week the broadcaster announced that it will show a total of 76 matches, two per gameweek, from Italian soccer’s elite Serie A across the 2026-27 season, complementing its existing rights for Italy’s Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana knockout competitions.
