Sport 24, the in-flight and on-ship entertainment service owned by international sports agency IMG, has renewed its broadcast partnership with English soccer’s Premier League until 2024-25.

Under the three-year renewal, agreed ahead of the start of the new season, Sport 24 will show five games a week, with 35 on the Sport 24 Extra platform, as well as weekly previews, reviews, and features.

The in-flight platform’s coverage for the new campaign will begin with the opening game on Friday (August 5) between Crystal Palace and Arsenal.

Paul Molnar, Premier League chief media officer, said: “The Premier League is delighted to renew our partnership with Sport 24 and IMG for airline and cruise line coverage.

“We are very pleased that Sport 24 considers the Premier League to be such an important part of its programming mix and we look forward to working together to bring the excitement of the Premier League to this important audience.”

Richard Wise, senior vice-president of content and channels for IMG’s media business, added: “The Premier League continues to be the most watched football league in the world and is hugely popular with our audience.

“We look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with the Premier League for a further three seasons and bringing world-class football to passengers worldwide.”

The extended agreement strengthens the relationship between the two parties that covers multiple areas.

Earlier this week, IMG extended its long-standing, exclusive global partnership with the English top-flight to manage, license, and market its video archive, until 2025, while in May, the agency prolonged its production and distribution deal with the league, covering the Premier League Productions (PLP) in-house media arm, for the next three seasons.

Sport 24, which launched in 2012, has rights to a host of other major sporting properties including Europe’s UEFA Champions and Europa League, the Asian Football Confederation, basketball’s NBA, American football’s NFL, as well as tennis’ four grand slams.
