Setanta Sports, the international pay-television operator, has today extended its exclusive broadcast rights deal for mixed martial arts’ UFC in Ukraine until 2024.

The broadcaster will continue to provide live coverage of all UFC events, as well as shoulder programming such as the promotion’s ‘Connected’ and ‘Reloaded’ shows.

All UFC content featured on Setanta, which includes over 40 live events a year, will also be available with Ukrainian commentary and voiceovers.

Setanta has held rights to the series in Ukraine since 2019 when it launched in the country.

Dwyer McCaughley, chief executive of Setanta Sports, said: “When Setanta Sports launched in Ukraine in 2019, securing the broadcast rights for UFC was a priority. In the last two years, our partnership with UFC has seen the sport grow in popularity in Ukraine.”

David Shaw, UFC senior vice-president of international and content, added: “UFC and Setanta Sports have a long-standing relationship in Ukraine and we are thrilled to continue building the sport of MMA and the UFC brand through this broadcast extension.”
