Italian soccer’s top-flight Serie A has struck a new partnership with sports technology and streaming graphic solutions firm Deltatre, which has been launched alongside a new direct-to-consumer website and app.

Through this new four-season agreement, Deltatre will support Serie A through the provision of its proprietary technology to support the new website, as well as the competition’s digital ecosystem at large.

This will include the Deltatre ‘Forge’ scalable content publishing and presentation platform (which is powering the new website), its video player offering, and its AI-powered search solution.

The new website and ensuing enhanced tech solutions cover Serie A, its associated Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana knockout competitions, as well as the youth-category Primavera Championship 1, Coppa Italia Primavera, and Supercoppa Primavera.

Furthermore, through a new ‘Clubs program’. Each of the 20 Serie A member clubs will be able to benefit from Deltatre’s digital infrastructure to revamp their own online presence.

Deltatre has supported Serie A since the 2024-25 campaign, through an agreement that included the provision of IP-based graphics last season, and then the launch of the Serie A data hub this year.

Speaking on the deal, Serie A chief executive Luigi De Siervo said: “We sought a partner that could demonstrate both the capability and commitment to support our long-term technological evolution.

“Deltatre’s proven expertise in delivering complex digital environments, combined with their deep understanding of user engagement, made them the right choice as we continue to strengthen the connection between Serie A and our fans worldwide.”

Deltatre chief revenue officer Peter Bellamy added: “Scalability and monetization are at the core of our offering, and this new digital platform for Serie A provides the ideal foundation for a growing global audience and an expanding content ecosystem.”

The news of this agreement comes after Serie A’s member clubs revealed experienced Italian businessman Giovanni Malago as their preferred candidate for the role of president of the national FIGC governing body.

Of the 20 teams, only two (Lazio and Hellas Verona) abstained from voting, although it is understood that they are not opposed to his selection, with the remaining 18 all voting in favour of him taking charge.

The election for the role of FIGC president will take place on June 22, with the deadline for other opponents to be announced on May 13.

Perhaps his biggest supporter is Inter Milan chief Giuseppe Marotta, who reportedly pushed for Malago in the face of opposition from rivals AC Milan and Juventus, who then moved to support the choice after their own candidate fell through.

If elected, he will replace Garbiele Gravina, who resigned at the beginning of the month after Italy’s third successive failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, having served in the role since 2018.

Malago is most prominently known as the former president of the Italian National Olympic Committee, a role he held from 2013 to 2025, as well as his role at the head of the organizing committee for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, where he was both president and chair.
