The World Netball governing body has announced that all action from the upcoming World Cup will be made available globally via the NetballPass streaming platform.

NetballPass will show all 60 matches live in countries where no exclusive broadcast deal has been struck.

On-demand content, meanwhile, will be freely available in countries without exclusive broadcast deals 30 minutes after each game ends and will be made available in all markets worldwide 48 hours after the matches conclude.

So far, regions in which deals have been struck include Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, Australia, the UK and Ireland, and New Zealand.

The 2023 Netball World Cup takes place between July 28 and August 6, in Cape Town, South Africa.

As well as match coverage, fans can access live match statistics, results, fixtures, standings, and individual and team statistics on NetballPass for free.

Clare Briegal, chief executive at World Netball, said: “Announcing today that we will be showing every game live and on-demand on our own platform, NetballPass, ensures that once again nobody will miss out on seeing the competition no matter where they are in the world.

“When we launched our strategic plan in 2021, we set out a mission to expand netball’s worldwide reach and impact, under our three core strategies: to grow, to play, and to inspire, and this is just one example of how we are achieving that and demonstrates our growth in the last two years.”

Regarding pricing, access to an individual match will cost £5 ($6.41) via NetballPass, while there will be a £10 deal for both semi-finals, the third-place playoff, and the final. For a complete tournament pass, the cost will be £15.

The last broadcasters to come on board as World Cup partners were Australian pay-TV heavyweight Foxtel and the public-service broadcaster SBS.

Foxtel will cover every game from the 16-team tournament live, while SBS will show the both semi-finals and the final free-to-air.
