LIV Golf, the controversial golf tour backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has announced a new tie-up with streaming platform Caffeine.

The deal includes live coverage of Friday matches, as well as new original programs like Club 54 Pre-Round and Post-Round shows, the Fairway to Heaven podcast, Mic’d Up features, LIV Films, and LIV Lessons.

LIV Golf League action will continue to air in the US on Saturdays and Sundays on the CW channel, the CW App, and LIV Golf Plus.

Tournaments will be covered globally, meanwhile, on LIV Golf Plus, the LIV Golf YouTube channel, and via over 20 international broadcast partners in more than 180 territories.

LIV Golf chief media officer Will Staeger said: “We’re thrilled about this new partnership with Caffeine that continues our efforts to expand streaming options for LIV Golf’s Friday live coverage while introducing the league to a next-gen audience.

“By distributing our Friday coverage across multiple platforms, including LIV Golf Plus, the LIV Golf YouTube channel, The CW App, and now Caffeine, cord-cutters, sports and entertainment viewers, and digital fans on the move can watch our top-level competition coverage on Fridays anywhere they like, on any device, live and on-demand.”

Caffeine chief executive Ben Keighran added: "We’re excited to partner with LIV Golf to expand distribution of its tournament content and help it reach new viewers as the tour continues to grow."

Last week LIV Golf announced a multi-year partnership with collectibles firm Panini.

The deal makes Panini the exclusive trading card partner for the LIV Golf League.

Earlier this month, the series' organizers partnered with business payments firm Corpay as its official corporate FX provider.

Through the deal, Corpay’s Cross-Border business will manage LIV Golf’s corporate foreign exchange transactions and deliver solutions that manage currency exposure for international payments.

This year’s LIV Golf League will feature 14 events in eight countries.

The series, which launched in 2022, has thus far managed to attract a selection of the world’s top golfers by paying them eye-watering sums.
